Reverse Osmosis Pilot Plant. Osmosis is a reversible phenomenon. When a solution in contact with a semipermeable membrane is subjected to a pressure greater than its osmotic pressure, the solvent is forced to move through the membrane in the opposite direction: this process is known as reverse osmosis.
It is evident that this process can be used for seawater desalination and for the concentration
and purification of wastewater.
