Cavitation Demonstration

SKU IT.H19 Category

The Cavitation Demonstration module is a teaching apparatus designed for the study of fluid mechanics and the phenomenon of cavitation. The system allows practical observation of the formation and collapse of vapor bubbles inside a Venturi tube, verifying Bernoulli’s principle and fluid behavior as pressure varies.

The apparatus uses a transparent acrylic Venturi tube that makes the liquid flow visible during testing. The bench is equipped with pressure gauges, a vacuum gauge, and control valves that allow pressure to be measured upstream, at the Venturi throat, and downstream. Students can adjust flow rate and pressure and directly observe the conditions that cause cavitation.

Exercises with the cavitation demonstration unit provide an understanding of the principles of cavitation, Bernoulli’s principle, and pressure variation in ducts.
