The Cooling Tower Study Apparatus is an advanced educational system designed for the study of evaporative cooling processes in chemical engineering laboratories. Furthermore, the plant allows for the analysis of heat and mass transfer phenomena in a practical and intuitive way. Thanks to its compact configuration, the system is ideal for educational, experimental, and research activities.

The unit includes a transparent methacrylate tower with internal packing. In this way, students can directly observe the water distribution and the behavior of the air flow inside the column. The heated water is pumped to the top of the tower and subsequently distributed uniformly via a rotameter. Consequently, channeling phenomena are reduced and the operating conditions of the process are improved.

The system also integrates a complete water recirculation circuit with a collection tank and a compensation tank. In particular, this solution allows for maintaining a constant water level during losses due to evaporation. At the same time, the air flow is generated by a centrifugal fan with adjustable flow rate, while a droplet separator retains residual particles exiting the column.

The apparatus is also equipped with a heating tank with electric heaters and a safety thermostat. Therefore, the system allows for practical exercises on the operation of cooling towers and evaporative heat transfer processes. For this reason, the unit represents an ideal solution for universities, technical institutes, and laboratories specialized in chemical engineering and industrial evaporation.
